I always thought it was a word coming from "Let's get out of here" > "Let's getouta here" > "Let's skedaddle" or from the word 'skatter'.

Me too! This is what I came here to check! Seems far more likely than the others! "Let's get out of here" > "Let's get outta here" > " 's get outta here" > " 's ked ad dle" (the "here" is swallowed when the word is said in haste ....) 128.54.254.180 18:58, 21 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
