Sorry, but...I just don't understand why we need this page. Fair enough, it's the plural (of sorts) of someone, but that doesn't mean it needs its own page. No one would look this up, and since we don't include translations for plurals it seems totally redundant. Anyway, ‘some people’ is only one possible plural for someone; you might just as likely say ‘some guys’ or ‘some folk’. Widsith 20:08, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- "Some guys" and "some folks" are the plurals of "some guy" and "some folk", not of "someone". "Some people" is the plural of "someone". "Some people" should be listed, as, well, it's the plural of someone. And yes, some people is the only possible plural for someone. "some guys" and "some folks" are not plurals of someone. I disagree. You could equally argue that ‘some people’ is just the plural of ‘some person’. ‘Some people’ is often used as a general plural for someone because someone doesn't have its own plural. Widsith 20:31, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the fact is, people rarely ever say "some person". They'd usually say someone instead. "Some guy" is not uncommon however, and "folk" is rarely used in the singular to begin with. That's really beside the point, anyway. My point is that it doesn't need its own page. By all means on the someone page give the plural as ‘some people’ if you want to, but why not just link to it as two separate words? In no way is it an idiomatic phrase. Widsith 20:51, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
