Use in countries with states other than the US[edit]
For the first word sense, the parenthetical note ("of one of the fifty United States") seems to imply that it is strictly a US thing, but it does not have a regional label saying as much. Does anybody know if this sense is used in countries—other than the United States—that have states, such as Mexico, Australia, etc.? — voidxor 00:43, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
