Etymology: from tellus?

From what I can see, it certainly seems possible that tellurium is derived from the Latin tellus. However, I don't actually know, which is why I'm saying this on the discussion page instead of editing it myself. Does anyone else know? 68.9.90.254 19:44, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, the link above says it was named after "der alten Mutter Erde" (the old mother Earth), i.e. Tellus. \Mike 19:53, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
