I followed Skeat (1910) except were Skeat said
- < Middle French < Latin
there I inserted
- < Middle French < Old French < Latin
since CNRTL (2012) shows a c.1240 attestation and Littré (1872-77) said < Provencal, Spanish, and Italian teologia < Latin. —BoBoMisiu (talk) 23:15, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
Religiology or divinity as hypernyms[edit]
Because:
- not all religions are theistic (personocentic)
- not all theistic religions deem theism as their core component (for example cosmocentralism: the universe or the cosmos, -oi being more important)
