Talk:toggle

IMO a toggle switch is a kind of switch construction (having a toggle lever to operate it), NOT a kind of switch function. Specifically each of a changeover switch (n-pole double throw) or an on/off switch (n-pole single throw) can be a toggle switch or a switch of another construction such as slide switch, pushbutton switch or even relay switch. There are also two-way centre-off toggle switches. Shannock9 23:04, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

noun two[edit]

this part of the definition might well be valid [I wouldn't know about nautical things, tho I've might have seen something like that on the Hong Kong star fery], the explanation doesn't make things absolutely clear to me though, and strikes me as too technical [like in what es meant by f. M.?], but in this case, as well as in the missing sens I will suggest below, a picture would be worth a thousand words!!.

I would moove the previous meaning to spot number three, and insert the last meaning mentioned on the disambiguation page on Wikipedia in its stead. [see further below]

I do not actually edit this myself for the following two reasons:

I couldn't easily come up with what I would conceive myself as a clear and consize [speech recognition that one okay, and my hands are hurting] description of the "textile closure buton [with loop mechanism]" as they kinda put it on Wikipedia.
Until I feel more confident that my contributions don't lead to an automatic and comment- less revert, and wors, an automatic and indefinite block of my account, I would rather refrain from editing myself if you please understand, even when it seems clear like in this case that for example a sense is missing.]

disclaimer and for the record:Any spelling mistakes in the above, I blame herewith completely and entirely on my speech recognition software program; furthermore, it is late right now, and my eyes are playing up-- among other things double -and blurry sight, so please bear with me trying to make this constructively meant comment,Thank you in advance!史凡 16:37, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Missing noun sense[edit]

Apparently it's also some kind of mathematical operation performed on posets. Equinox 00:32, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
