Possible missing sense[edit]

Chambers 1908 also defines it as "a wing in the first groove of a stage". I'm not sure whether that is zoology or theatre! Equinox 15:29, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I suspect this corresponds to the existing theatre sense (which in some cases seems to be a solid panel rather than a curtain), although it certainly is an odd definition! I assume the type of stage referred to has grooves in which these panels can slide to widen or narrow the part of the stage that is visible to the audience.
