The only problem I have with the definition is the use of the word: "brief" when referring to "a brief electrical surge" in the entry for noun...

"(physics) A transient phenomenon, especially an electric current; a very brief surge."

I would suggest the alternative use of the word: "indeterminate" as in: "an electrical surge of indeterminate duration"....
