Not all Latin words in Albanian come from Vulgar Latin![edit]
Latin contact in Albanian predates the formation of the oldest Romance languages. For this reason, usually, etymologists, when they don't find distinct features that point to a Vulgar borrowing, think of all Latin borrowings in Albanian as thru Latin not Vulgar Latin cf.
