The cited refs are too outdated as to be valid for the given etymology "From Proto-Indo-European *werg- (“to turn”), from Proto-Indo-European *wer- (“to turn, bend”)." Rather LIV2 assigns the Latin verb to *h₂erg. HJJHolm (talk) 15:53, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
- @HJJHolm: Actually LIV assigns is to *h₂werg-. There is no root **h₂erg- in LIV. —JohnC5 22:59, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
