Can anyone tell me how to construe Rilke's use of this this verb in "Fragmente Aus Verlorenen Tagen" "Fragments from Lost Days":

Ich spürte jede Spitze seiner Spiele, / und war, als ob ein Regen auf mich fiele, / in welchem alle Dinge sich verwandeln.

it could be used as a good example in the quotations.

The last two lines mean: "I / It was as if a rain were falling on me, in which all things change (into something else)." That is, the rain causes the things to metamorphose. --- Personally, I don't understand the first line, which literally means "I felt every point (pointed tip) of his/its games", but maybe it makes sense in context. 2.203.201.113 15:45, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
