Pronunciation[edit]

Actually, this word is pronounced [võz] but Hungarian lunguists do not accept that in the real pronunciation we say some words not really as written. Adam bozso (talk) 16:41, 20 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Adam bozso I think Hungarian linguists do care about pronunciation. Please read Hangtan II by Orsolya Forró. It contains information about the allophones of n that this dictionary also indicates in IPA sections. See szénbányász, színvak, angyal, dongó. As for vonz, Orsolya Forró mentions this type on page 31, section 3.4.2.1. We haven't implemented this allphone yet. She uses this IPA symbol for vánszorog: v[ãː]szorog. I'm not sure about the ã, õ, etc. symbols since they are used in French and this allophone in Hungarian is not even close to that. @Adam78: I'd appreciate your thoughts. @Adam bozso, Panda10: Siptár, Péter and Miklós Törkenczy. The Phonology of Hungarian. The Phonology of the World’s Languages. Oxford University Press, 2007. →ISBN mentions it in a footnote on page 180 (p. 195 in the PDF) and in full on pages 208–212 (pp. 223–227 in the PDF) including an overview on the latter page. In fact, it would be nice to include these as additional (optional) ways of pronunciation. Adam78 (talk) 21:46, 23 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Adam78 I added it. Thanks.
