Etymology[edit]
We need a source for the etymology connecting the germanic word to PIE *gʷelbhos. It doesn't seem to be supported by the sources I could find. ✎ HannesP · talk 17:00, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- I think it's wrong. Germanic hw-, to my knowledge, requires PIE *kʷ, not *gʷ. I've found it derived from PIE *kʷel here: [1] (source in Dutch). Kolmiel (talk) 00:40, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
