Template:IPA-lite

IPA(key): /aɪ piː ˈeɪ/

To be used on pages exceeding Lua memory limits. This can do anything {{IPA}} can do, except:

  • Syllable counting.
  • Handling multiple references in one |refN= parameter, delineated by !!!.
  • Using more than 6 transcriptions in a row.

If the language has syllable counting enabled, or there are more than 6 transcriptions, the template will default to regular {{IPA}} behavior.

IPA tag uses with multiple references should not be changed to use this template. However, if multiple references are included in one |refN= parameter, the end result will basically just be <ref>Foo !!! Bar</ref> instead of <ref>Foo</ref><ref>Bar</ref>, which is perhaps not that bad.
