From Hebrew תִּשְׁעָה בְּאָב (Tish'a B'Áv, the ninth day of Av), from תִּשְׁעָה (tish'á, nine) + בְּ (b'-, in) + אָב ('Áv, Av, fifth month of the Jewish Calendar).
