Named after French engineer Félix Trombe.

Trombe wall (plural Trombe walls)

  1. A wall built on the winter sun side of a building with a glass external layer and a high mass internal layer separated by a layer of air, so as to absorb heat during sunlit hours of winter and slowly release it overnight.
