Removal of Latin specific epithets[edit]
Hi. Please do not convert Latin specific epithets into Translingual forms until there's been a discussion that has resolved how to handle these. In the meantime I'm going to revert your changes and put back the Latin forms. There are hundreds of Latin terms that serve largely or exclusively as specific epithets and we need a uniform policy on them, not a haphazard changing here and there of specific terms. The prevailing practice has been to define them as Latin terms, and so that practice should continue until there's a consensus to do otherwise. Thanks. Benwing2 (talk) 06:30, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
That substed template[edit]
Looking at the edit in the edit history, I see that I was wrong about it not displaying (I wasn't completely awake, I guess). Still, substing templates like that is a bad idea- we even have an abuse filter that tags triple brackets so we can remove such cases. Chuck Entz (talk) 15:52, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
