Westmorland and Furness

  1. A unitary authority in Cumbria, England, created on 1 April 2023, replacing Barrow-in-Furness district, Eden district and South Lakeland district, as well as Cumbria County Council.

Usage notes[edit]

It includes the whole of the former county of Westmorland and the Furness section of Lancashire, both of which were taken into Cumbria when it was created in 1974. Cumberland unitary authority was also created on 1 April 2023 in the north and west of Cumbria.
