Etymology[edit]

Literally, the exception strengthens the rule, originally with the mistranslation of the verb probō (I test) in Latin (see the etymology of the English-language equivalent). A more faithful rendering of the original could have been a kivétel próbára teszi a szabályt.

Pronunciation[edit]

  • IPA(key): [ɒ ˈkiveːtɛl ˈɛrøːʃiːti ɒ ˈsɒbaːjt]
  • (file)

Proverb[edit]
