Polish[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Derived from a popular joke of Russian origin, along the following lines:
- An American and a Russian meet at a bar. The Russian claims that the Soviet Union is a land of freedom. The American asks, "Can you publicly criticize the government?" The Russian goes silent. The American presses on: "Can you start your own business?" Again, no response. "Can you even move to a different country?" Finally, the Russian responds, "And you are lynching Negroes!"
