abbor +‎ fiske, first part from Old Danish aghborre (perch) and Old Swedish aghborre, aborre (perch), the beginning of the word comes from Proto-Indo-European *h₂eḱ- (sharp, pointed) + the end of the word comes from Old Norse borrablað, from Proto-Germanic *burzô. Last part from Old Norse fiski (fishing).
