      Mr. Copland Hutchison remarks*, that the cellular texture connecting the adipous membrane, to the fascia or muscles, suppurates and sloughs more readily than the adipous substance itself.

Usage notes[edit]

An earlier alternative to adipose, this spelling fell out of use by the middle of the 19th century.
