From Javanese amerta, from Sanskrit अमृत (amṛta), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *amŕ̥tas, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *amŕ̥tas, from Proto-Indo-European *n̥mr̥tós (“immortal”).
