amic acid (plural amic acids)

  1. (organic chemistry) Any organic compound that has both a carboxylic acid and an amide functional group.

Usage notes[edit]

Usually the partial amide of a dicarboxylic acid that has a trivial name e.g. malonic acid => malonamic acid.
