Etymology[edit]
Derived from New Latin anaesthesiologia (compare anaesthēsia, from Ancient Greek ἀναισθησία (anaisthēsía)), similarly to word pairs such as biológia (“biology”) – biológus (“biologist”).[1] With the suffix -lógus.
