Aromanian[edit]

Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Possibly from metathesis of a Vulgar Latin aucupō, from Latin aucupor. Other theories suggest Latin occupō, with meaning influenced by or confused with the former. Compare Romanian apuca, apuc.
