Etymology[edit]
From French babouche, from Arabic بَابُوش (bābūš), from Persian پاپوش (pâpuš, “slipper”). Compare English babouche, Spanish, Portuguese and Polish babucha, Russian бабу́ша (babúša), German Babusche, Italian babbuccia.
