Etymology[edit]

From Salar daq (to cling). Cognate with Turkish takılmak, Azerbaijani taxılmaq, Turkmen dakylmak, Southern Altai тагыл- (tagïl-, to fasten), etc. Unrelated to Salar dağalğusı (to be parted).
