dependant + -cy or dependance + -y or depend + -ancy.

dependancy (countable and uncountable, plural dependancies)
- Archaic form of dependency.
- 1858, Hercules Robinson, Sea drift, page 92:
- One thing we may learn from Spain as she is, namely, the management of colonies. "Sweet are the uses of adversity;" and the "precious jewel" in this case is to be found in Spanish dependancies.
