- (historical) A former Dutch coin, originally of silver, worth one tenth of a guilder.
- (South Africa, historical) An English penny, worth the same as the Dutch coin.

Already attested in the 17th century. From dubbel (“double”) + -tje (diminutive). Named for having twice the value of a stuiver.
