Genericization of the trademark EpiPen, presumably a blend of epinephrine +‎ pen, from being a pen-sized device used to inject epinephrine.

  1. (medicine) An epinephrine/adrenaline autoinjector. A device designed to ease the symptoms of anaphylaxis/anaphylactic shock, so as to save the life of the victim of the extreme allergic reaction, by injecting a dose of adrenaline/epinephrine through a spring-loaded needle that punches into the tissue it is triggered against.
