  1. (transitive, of a river) To be a tributary of another river or waterway.
    The River Frome feeds into the Avon in the centre of Bristol.
  2. (figurative) To perpetuate; to reinforce.
    The high proportions of Asian students at prestigious universities feed into the stereotype of Asians putting a high value on education.
