    1. Rattus sordidus (syn. Rattus conatus), a burrowing species that forms underground colonies, found in Australia.

    4. Ratus exulans, found in the Pacific islands.
    5. Rattus rattus argentiventer, found in the tropics.
    6. Maxomys surifer (syn. Rattus surifer solaris).
