Unclear. Might be related to Proto-Hellenic *āwḗr (“morning mist”) as Proto-Albanian *awuòr, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂weh₁- (“to blow”). See Ancient Greek ᾱ̓ήρ (āḗr) for more.
