future history (countable and uncountable, plural future histories)

  1. (countable) A postulated history of the future that is used by authors in the subgenre of science fiction to construct a common background for fiction.
  2. (uncountable, chiefly science fiction, often humorous) Future events perceived or analyzed chronologically, as compared to history.
    (the speaker is a time traveller from the future) Well, lad, I would tell you more, but that's just future history that you must figure out on your own.
