Iu Mien[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from a neighbouring language, compare Chinese (MC kat) and Austroasiatic forms such as Pacoh cát, Khmer កាត់ (kat), although it is hard to say whether the donor language was Sinitic or Austroasiatic. See also japv, the native term for "to cut", now somewhat more semantically restricted than gaatv.

Pronunciation[edit]

Verb[edit]

gaatv

  1. to cut
