goal third (plural goal thirds)

  1. (netball) One of two thirds of a netball court nearest the goal ring.
    • 2012, Sandy Green, Encouraging Early Sports Skills, page 16:
      The playing court is divided into thirds, a 'centre third' sandwiched between two 'goal thirds', with a D shaped area in both of the goal thirds and restrictions on which players are allowed in each section.
