grozav

Usage notes[edit]

While this word has different senses that sometimes mean essentially the opposite thing, and is etymologically related to words like groază and groaznic that are negative, it is more commonly used in a positive way today. Compare the semantic development of English awful-awesome, terrible-terrific. It is also used as an intensifier which can go either way.
