English[edit]

Noun[edit]

gunja (uncountable)

  1. (Australian Aboriginal) Eye dialect spelling of ganja.

Usage notes[edit]

This spelling is sometimes used by Indigenous Australians. Although the terms weed and pot are both commonly understood by Australians nationwide to refer to recreational cannabis (marijuana), ganja is a nickname used in many remote communities and is a common slang name for the drug in Aboriginal English.[1] The term is also used in many other countries.
