home market (plural home markets)

  1. The market for a product within the country in which it is produced.
    • 2021 October 20, “Vivarail to unveil 80mph super-Class 230 at COP26”, in RAIL, number 942, page 10:
      While the home market may be limited for Vivarail's products (they are used by West Midlands Trains, Transport for Wales, and on the Isle of Wight), its backers are hoping to attract more interest from the United States, where another version of the Class 230 is already running in Pennsylvania with a second being prepared for export.
