Latin , "we have inspected". It was the first word of ancient English charters confirming a grant made by a former king.

inspeximus (plural inspeximuses)

  1. (historical) A confirmation and reaffirmation of one or several royal grants made in the past, generally at the request of a putative beneficiary.
