Etymology[edit]
jmj (“being in”) + -w (plural suffix) + jꜣwt (plural of jꜣt (“mound”)) + .sn (third-person plural suffix pronoun), thus literally ‘those in their mounds’. Some variants leave off .sn for a meaning of ‘those in the mounds’.
