Tocharian B[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Tocharian *kātsān (whence also Tocharian A kāts). Further origin uncertain; most likely from a derivative of Proto-Indo-European *gʷet- (swelling, rounding; stomach, gut), in which case cognate with Old English cwiþ (pregnant). Also possibly from a derivative of Proto-Indo-European *kuHtís (skin, hide; pouch, sac), and in that case related to Tocharian A kāc (skin).

Noun[edit]
