From Proto-Albanian *katsa, cognate with Hittite [Term?] (/⁠kattu⁠/, spiteful), Old Irish cath (id), Tocharian A kat (destruction), Old Norse hǫðr (war, slaughter). The sense development went from 'infection, disease' to 'protuberance'.
