      Another sport, kittenball, also called diamond ball, was played more often than baseball because the games were 7 innings long. Kittenball also required less equipment therefore it was cheaper to field a team.

      We called it "kittenball" in those days. For what reason I never thought to ask and still have not discovered. But it was softball, the twelve inch variety with the fast, underhand pitch.
