left lane hog (plural left lane hogs)

  1. A motorist who occupies the left (especially leftmost) lane (passing lane) of a multi-lane road or highway, without moving over to allow faster-moving traffic to pass.

Usage notes[edit]

  • Used in countries with right-hand traffic, where lanes to the left are used for passing other vehicles.
