From Javanese ꦩꦕꦼꦠ꧀ (macet), ꦥꦕꦼꦠ꧀ (pacet, impasse, deadlocked, blocked), from Old Javanese cĕt (in a moment, all at once, in a flash). Compare to Proto-Mon-Khmer *tət (blocked, to block).[1]
