Borrowed from Sundanese ᮙᮦᮔᮊ᮪ (ménak, nobility) (compare Javanese ꦩꦺꦤꦏ꧀ (ménak, obsolete title for a nobleman, literally comfortable), Balinese ᬫᬾᬦᬓ᭄ (ménak, pleasant person; nobility)), from Old Javanese menak (nobleman). By surface analysis, meng- +‎ enak (delicious; comfortable, pleasant).
