- La kata bleko miaŭ estas ofte elparolata “miáŭ”, kaj tiam mjaŭ estas pli bona skribo.
- The cat sound "miao" is often pronounced “miáŭ”, and then [the spelling] "mjaŭ" is better.
Usage notes[edit]
The spelling "miaŭ" is formally a two-syllable word, accented on the first syllable. For some, "mjaŭ", being unambiguously single-syllabled, offers a preferable pronunciation. See the quotation above.
