Etymology[edit]

From Marvel Comics' "Spider-Man" comic books, in which the main character (Spider-Man) has a superpower called "spider sense" (sometimes called spidey sense) that would forewarn him about dangerous events. He would often say his spider sense was "tingling" when it was warning him of something.
